Grandma's Cabbage Filled Buns

These buns are something our family has been making at Christmas time for as long as I can remember. Grandma says she learned how to make them from "the German ladies in town."

Fry together one small head of cabbage (cut up) 1 large onion, 1 lb of hamburger. Add salt + pepper to taste and a little oil. When fried brown, cool. Roll out bread or bun dough (which ever you are making) very thin + cut in about 4 inch squares, fill with fried mixture. Fold dough over + pinch shut (bring each of the four corners to the middle). Place fold down on well greased cookie pan, let rise about 15 to 20 minutes. Bake in oven about 375* for about 20-25 minutes. This should make about 1 dozen.
